When it comes to buying stained glass, it is often difficult to find a local source that has the type and style that you are interested in. It is unfortunate that local stained glass shops are a relatively rare thing these days. When buying stained glass on Ebay or any other auction site, there are some pointers to remember. Start by doing a general search for the type of stained glass you are interested in buying. This will help narrow down the number of glass artists to only those selling the specific style of stained glass you want.
Then scan through the available pieces by skimming down the little picture previews on the left and you’ll be able to find the colors of stained glass that best fit your home decor (or that of the person you are buying the items for).
After finding a few stained glass pieces you like, start looking at the pictures carefully. Look for smooth solder lines and that every piece looks tightly held within the piece of artwork. It might be surprising, but every once in awhile you’ll find an item that looks like it was put together rather quickly. Fortunately, 99% of the stained glass sellers on Ebay sell only top quality work.
Finally, look for for the shipping prices, If you are buying many items, it is worth asking the seller to combine them to save shipping, and many sellers are more than willing to do this for their stained glass customers. Because stained glass is fragile, it is almost always worth getting insurance if it is offered!
