The easiest stained glass panels to find are the ones that are made in the antique style or are true antiques themselves. These panels often have a simple design that makes them an elegant addition to any window. In many designs the number of colors is limited to 3 or less so it is easy to fit them into any room without altering the color scheme that already exists.
In many cases, a stained glass panel that is made in the antique style will have a simple border, clear (or semi-transparent) textured glass in much of the center of the piece, and a central focal point. Favorite themes for antique panel designs are simple rosebuds or other flowers. In reality though, the options are limitless and one can find stained glass artwork designed around any theme or idea.
These stained glass panels are very portable and can be used in a variety of places. Most often, they are added as a main feature into a larger window. This is done by hanging them from the upper portion of the window – either by a big enough suction cup, or from the window frame itself. Some people prefer to use stained glass in transom windows. Another option is to hang a panel on an interior wall, though the benefit of the light coming through will be lost.
Wherever you put a stained glass window panel, you can be sure of one thing – it will instantly improve the feeling guests get when they walk into the room!
